Rate - 40 Hour RBT® Online Training

Rate

Rate refers to the number of times a behavior occurs within a specific time period. It is calculated by dividing the frequency of the behavior by the length of time observed, allowing for a standardized measure of behavior over time.

Example

If a student raises their hand 10 times during a 30-minute lesson, the rate of hand-raising behavior is 10 occurrences per 30 minutes, or 0.33 hand raises per minute. This helps compare how often a behavior occurs relative to the time available for it to happen.
