This engaging ABA webinar introduces behavior technicians to motivating operations (MOs) and Functional Communication Training (FCT). It provides a clear foundation for understanding how motivation and communication work together in applied behavior analysis.

Learners explore verbal behavior from a behavior-analytic perspective. The course explains how to identify and differentiate B. F. Skinner’s verbal operants, including mands, tacts, intraverbals, and echoics. In addition, it highlights the role of establishing operations (EOs) and abolishing operations (AOs) in effective language instruction.

Throughout the course, behavior technicians learn how motivating operations:

  • change the value of reinforcement

  • influence the frequency of behavior

  • affect communication and requesting skills

  • contribute to the reduction of challenging behavior

The training also introduces evidence-based language teaching strategies. It places a strong emphasis on mand training for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. By strengthening functional communication through FCT, learners gain practical tools to increase independent requesting, reduce maladaptive behavior, and support positive behavior change in ABA settings.

Course access is provided for three (3) years from the date of purchase.
