No.  This training fulfills the training requirement to become a RBT.  But there are more steps to becoming a RBT.  Please review the BACB website for more information.

• Step 1: Email every BCBA and BCaBA on the BACB registry within driving distance.  Doing the competency exam in person is best.
• Step 2: Google your city’s name and “ABA agency”.  Email every ABA agencies in the area to conduct your competency exam.  ABA agencies employ BCBAs and BCaBAs.  This also might lead to a job.
• Step 3: Check craigslist and indeed.com for ABA therapist and RBT job listings.  Even if the job post says RBT needed, email the contact person and explain you are taking the 40 hour course and need help with the competency exam.

You will watch video of powerpoints with me lecturing.  The videos have active student responding questions throughout.   After each video is a series of activities to further learning such as reading articles, discussion boards, assignments, and games (matching, drag and drop graphic organizers, and fill in questions).  There are quizzes at the end of each section.  You need to score 80% on the quizzes but can take them as many times as you need.  You will need to pass a final test (combination of all quizzes) but you can take this final test as many times as needed.

You have 180 days from the time you open the course up.  This is a rule that the BACB created.  I have no control over this.  So please finish your course within 180 days.  It will disappear from your account after 180 days.   You will also need to complete the course in no less than 5 days.  You can take longer than 5 days but cannot take less than 5 days.

You need a computer and internet connection.  Excel and Word are helpful, but not necessary.  If you don’t have Microsoft office on your computer you can create a gmail account and use google docs/google excel (free) to do the assignments.

The course loses functionality on a phone, so please complete it on a computer.

40 hours.  You can break the 40 hours up as you see fit.  The course “drips” (becomes available over 5 days).   This is a BACB rule.  You cannot complete the course in less than 5 days.
